Football in Scotland?

On Wednesday night I went to the local institute. (Institute is kind of like a sunday school lesson and activity for young adults each week). It took about a half hour to walk to the church, but we eventually got there for the last part of the lesson. Afterwards we taught the locals how to play American football! It was SO funny. Most of the people didn't play, but we had about six Scottish guys who wanted to play. Honestly, most of us don't consider ourselves experts on the sport, but compared to them we were pros. They didn't know what a "down" was or anything. Watching them try to hike the ball was hilarious. One guy came up to me and said, "Wait, so wha' is this thang calt a hand off?" At one point I made an interception and started running down the field. This big guy comes up to tag me, but then forgot what to do. Instead he just hugged me. Afterward he said, "I'm sorry, I didn't know wha' ta do! So I jus' gave you a big hug instead." It was so funny. I never thought I would teach a bunch of Scottish boys how to play football, but there's a first time for everything right?

Here's a group picture afterward.
