On the Road to Derry Part II: Giant's Causeway

The Giant's Causeway is hands down one of the coolest things I have ever seen or will ever see in my life. It has been named the fourth greatest natural wonder in the world by some magazine or country....can't remember which. The point is...it was AWESOME! The entire coastline is made up of hexagonal columns made of basalt.

When we arrived at the visitor center it was pouring rain like I have never seen before. We were drenched just from walking a few feet from the bus to the center/museum. There were often times during the trip when we braved the rainstorms in order to explore castles, cities, and other sites, but this was WAY worse. All the tourists packed inside the visitor center until the rain let up. Luckily there were lots of things to do inside to keep us busy for a while, but they were mostly directed toward little kids. After 45 minutes or so the rain wasn't quite so bad so we decided to hike down to the shore. It was actually pretty nice because the rocks were almost deserted besides the people in my group.

Poor Kenzie was wearing her cute, but not-so-water proof raincoat from Primark.

Cloudy days=amazing pictures

Random castle ruins near the Causeway. My professor's wife made us stop to take pictures of everything of remote interest (mainly sheep). This time the stop was worth it.
